Exploring Jack's life in the early 1900s and his pursuit of a new life without resorting to violence or brutality could offer a unique and intriguing direction for Red Dead Redemption 3.

Though Rockstar has not officially announced any plans for a Red Dead Redemption 3 release, previous titles have hinted at the direction the game could take.
10 Rare Things That Can Happen in Red Dead Redemption 2
- Aliens
- Bigfoot
- Vampires
- Serial killers
- Instant death by lightning
- Jack Marston's Narrative
- Continuing The RDR Story
- Born at the tail end of the 19th century, Jack Marston would enter the world in Red Dead Redemption 2 during the tail end of the Old West, thrusting people into the events of the original Red Dead Redemption. That story ends with John dying at the hands of Bureau of Investigation agent Edger Ross and the government, with Jack getting his vengeance on Ross in the end.
- Red Dead Redemption 3 Can Save Jack Marston From His Father's Fate
Despite the extensive mission that allows players to experience Jack's life in the early 1900s, they never truly get to live his life, and they don't witness the dramatic tale of vengeance that unfolds. While extended missions indeed provide an opportunity for players to embody the character in this era, it creates a significant time jump, opening up the possibility of a story centered around Jack's early life in the early 1900s. However, there's an immense leap in time, making it challenging for players to fully grasp his journey and the consequences of his actions.Though Red Dead Redemption 2 has explored life as a career criminal in the Old West, it has never presented the government in a positive light. While the Bureau of Investigation provides a flawed legal system, it could offer an intriguing and potentially impactful story arc focusing on protecting a town or exploring the role of a bounty hunter. Standing on the other side of the law, facing a government agency with a vested interest in maintaining control, could offer a unique and compelling narrative path.
While RDR2 featured duels, they were never a major focus and were relegated to a supporting role in the game. Red Dead Redemption 3 could potentially prioritize duels as a central mechanic, expanding upon the original game's focus on them. This could potentially lead to a more immersive and engaging experience for players who enjoyed the duel system in the previous game.
Though we get to explore the end days for Arthur in RDR2 fully, we don't really get to see what led him to become friends with Dutch van der Linde, Micha, or James, though they do remark about old heists several times throughout the game. Being able to see even further into the past via a prelude to RDR2 would not only make a lot of sense from a narrative point of view but also give us access to Arthur's early life and how he meets up with the career criminals.
Exploring The Indigenous Peoples Of America: A Different Perspective
A different perspective on the game could be obtained by considering the Indigenous Peoples of America's experience of colonization and forced removal from their ancestral lands. By examining their culture and beliefs through the lens of the game's events, players could gain a deeper understanding of the human impact of westward expansion.Even though the Pinkertons are probably one of the most despised groups in all of Red Dead Redemption, a story about a reformed one would make for an intriguing narrative. The Pinkertons in Red Dead Redemption are actually based on a real private detective agency established in the American 1850s and known widely for their alleged attempts to break up unionized labor in the early 20th century. A story involving a conflicted former Pinkerton finding their way could be a compelling exploration of redemption and the complexities of morality.
Though Dutch, the enigmatic leader of the Van der Linde Gang, is one of the few characters that escapes the events of Red Dead Redemption 2, his journey to Canada would be an intriguing contrast to the protagonists of the first and second Red Dead Redemption games. This would allow Rockstar to flesh out a completely new map, loosely based on Canada, offering a unique and captivating experience for players.
Though playing as the iconic character wouldn't be the way that Rockstar would go in this case, as Dutch is too good of a character foil to be the protagonist, it could be interesting to see the formation of the gang through a third, unmentioned cowboy or cowgirl who helped during the formative roots of the gang.At the end of Red Dead Redemption 2, Sadie mentions that she wants to travel to South America, indicating that she is still alive and not a target of the Bureau of Investigation. This could potentially lead to a new Red Dead Redemption that features an all-new map centered in South America, revolving around Sadie.
