Daredevil's relentless self-punishment has become a self-fulfilling prophecy, where his constant beating leaves him perpetually vulnerable to criticism and judgment.

In a preview for Daredevil #6 by Saladin Ahmed and Aaron Kuder, Matt Murdock is kneeling on a rooftop, confessing his sins to God. However, these ‘sins’ aren’t anything that he’s done wrong, but rather how he’s failed to live up to his own idea of God’s expectation of him. Matt is then interrupted by Father Javi, who tells him to recall a verse from the Bible that he thinks will do Matt some good.

Daredevil and She-Hulk's relationship will undergo a significant shift in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie, "Daredevil #5," as their rivalry takes center stage. This twist on their established dynamic suggests a competitive and antagonistic dynamic between the two characters.Matt Murdock is acutely aware of his perceived lack of worthiness of God's love. This self-loathing manifests itself through the use of "devil" iconography in his punishment and self-deprecation. His relentless pursuit of the "hand of God" on Earth, coupled with his existential torment, has created a self-fulfilling prophecy of his own demise.

Instead of dwelling on this existential nightmare, Murdock seeks solace and guidance from his colleagues and mentor. Through their intervention, the four words "the hand of God" reshape his life, leading him toward redemption and self-acceptance.

Seconds after Father Javi gives Matt some much-needed council, Doctor Strange approaches Daredevil about his recent encounters with demons. While Murdock has become a soldier of the Lord, demons are decidedly supernatural forces of evil in Marvel Comics canon, giving Doctor Strange ample reason to involve himself. However, before getting into the details of their shared mission against these infernal forces of evil, Doctor Strange comments on Murdock’s newfound resolve, saying, “Matt Murdock – finally finding his way back to himself”. Could this mean that Daredevil is finally embracing self-acceptance and breaking free from the perpetual guilt he has carried for so long?
