Little People, Big World's Zach Roloff recently underwent an emergency brain surgery due to a health issue he had been struggling with for a while. This health scare required immediate attention and resulted in him being hospitalized a few days before the premiere of Little People, Big World season 25.

Apart from his marriage and relationship with his parents, Zach's health issues have been a significant part of Little People, Big World. Born with achondroplasia, the most common form of dwarfism, he has faced health challenges since he was a child. Sadly, multiple health issues accompany being a dwarf, and Zach once joked that surgery has become a routine for his family. However, Zach has found himself dealing with another health scare, leaving fans concerned about his health.

On February 9, 2024, Tori took to Instagram to share an update about the health of her husband, Zach. She posted pictures of them together in a hospital room, captioning them, "Not exactly how our week was supposed to go. Zachary had an emergency shunt revision this morning, and it's been a scary 72 hours, but he is doing well and recovering." Tori expressed her sincere gratitude to the fans for their prayers and support, along with her appreciation for the hospital's medical team and Zach's mom, Amy, for their unwavering care and dedication.

Zach suffered from terrible migraines, which caused him medical complications that required surgery to help drain cerebrospinal fluid and redirect it to another location in the body where it could be reabsorbed.

Although Zach's shunt revision medical procedure happened quite recently, the Little People, Big World star first spoke about having terrible migraines in June 2017 during Little People, Big World season 17, episode 6. During the episode, Zach revealed he had been sick and secretly battling headaches and nausea for many months before he told his family about it. According to Zach, the symptoms had been happening for many months before he told his family about it.

At the time, Zach admitted that the symptoms were so severe he felt like he would die. His concerns were shared by his parents, Matt and Amy, who both suspected the symptoms might be caused by a shunt implanted in his head to help him drain fluid as a baby. Although Matt and Amy were concerned that the shunt's failure might lead to his death, Zach downplayed their efforts, noting that he didn't want to worry his wife, Tori, saying, "Tori has already gone through enough. I don't want to frighten her."

In 2019, during Little People, Big World season 19, episode 9, Zach complained about feeling a lot of pain in his back and legs. He explained that he had a tightness in his thighs and weakness in his knees, which he believed were related to a syndrome he couldn't understand.

Due to the concerning symptoms, Zach made an appointment to see a doctor and was told to undergo an MRI, which Tori explained could be scary due to her inability to alleviate his worries. Despite Tori's initial apprehension, she and Zach soon learned his prognosis, which revealed he had a multilevel degenerative disc disease causing spinal stenosis. While Tori's initial reaction was fear, she later expressed her concerns to the doctor, highlighting the multilevel nature of the disease and the potential for major surgery.

After learning that his newborn son Jackson would have the same form of dwarfism he was born with, Zach explained that he was well aware of the risks associated with the condition. Throughout his life, he had faced numerous medical issues, including undergoing leg straightening as a child. While speaking to Tori about his experiences, Zach shared that he had to endure leg straightening procedures, followed by a second surgery in his sophomore year of high school where screws were added to his leg.

Meanwhile, the couple's second child, Lilah, has also been revealed to be born with dwarfism. Despite the health struggles Zach has gone through and the diagnosis of his kids, it looks like the Little People, Big World star and his wife Tori will have a tough time ahead due to the challenges associated with dwarfism. However, the couple will have the support of the Little People, Big World fans.
