Love Is Blind season 6 has finally arrived, and one single, Matthew, is grappling with the way he was edited and portrayed in the series despite having numerous red flags.

Matthew commented on a post of his behavior by Love Is Blind that was captioned, “oh no..that’s not..that’s not how conversation works!!” with a rebuttal. “Sure, being an alcohol-free lifestyle was a key element of my story that was never disclosed, but I lived an alcohol-free life and did the experiment sober,” Matthew shared. “This was a significant factor in why I had so much difficulty connecting with women in the beginning. There were also many misrepresentations and falsehoods created in my opinion to smear my character. I look forward to telling my side of the story with the full truth at the appropriate time.”

While Matthew's behavior on Love Is Blind is challenging to watch, men with poor social and communication skills haven't exactly been a challenge to come by on the show. Throughout Love Is Blind season 5, fans got to know Uche Okorhoa, who initially had a connection with Aaliyah Cosby early on in the experiment. Some fans, like u/Happy_Mirror1985, felt they were seeing Uche all over again watching Matthew. “It’s giving Uche...[he] posted a bunch of things on insta saying he can’t wait for his side to come out after being really awful,” the fan commented, with others agreeing that the comparison was spot on.

While Matthew wasn't happy with the way he was portrayed on Love Is Blind season 6's first batch of episodes, his story was an interesting one to watch, as it revealed that he had been feeding the same lines to other women in the pods. Despite Amber Desiree "A.D." Smith confronting him, it became evident that Matthew was unwilling to take responsibility for his actions and was unable to continue in the experiment.

With Matthew's decision to leave Love Is Blind after being caught saying the same thing to more than one woman, the experiment took a different turn for A.D. as she moved on with someone else. Although Matthew's time on Love Is Blind had been difficult, he now feels that his portrayal on the series is fairly accurate. Though Matthew may have been edited to look somewhat more villainous than he was in actuality, his Love Is Blind experience can speak for itself on screen.
