The initial story arc will delve into each of the four Turtles individually with Joëlle Jones illustrating Raphael, Rafael Albuquerque focusing on Michelangelo, Cliff Ch portraying Leonardo, and Chris Burnham depicting Donatello. All of these artists are to be part of the TMNT legacy and to join the ranks of esteemed creators who contributed to the series over time.

This summer, Jason Aaron will be relaunching the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic series with a fresh new look. He will be joined by a group of superstar artists, each drawing one issue of the first arc, which will focus on one of the four Turtles. The line-up of artists includes Joëlle Jones on Raphael, Rafael Albuquerque on Michelangelo, Cliff Chiang on Leonardo, and Chris Burnham on Donatello. The new series will launch with a new #1 in July, and each artist has been allowed to pick their favorite Turtle to focus on in the issue they will be drawing. After that, Rafael Albuquerque will draw the entirety of the second story arc. This new era of TMNT promises to be exciting, and fans can't wait to see what's in store. Additionally, the upcoming 150th issue of IDW Publishing's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will mark the end of the current run and the start of a new chapter."I'm incredibly excited to collaborate with Jason on this amazing project, alongside a talented group of artists. As someone who grew up in the '80s, the TMNT cartoon holds a special place in my heart. Drawing them for the first time feels like coming full circle, filled with nostalgia and anticipation. I can't wait to unveil what we're working on!"
Cliff Chiang will be taking on the character of Leonardo, and he expressed his excitement to IGN, saying, "I still remember the thrill of reading those early black-and-white issues and how they brought in a new era of independent comics." For Chiang, the real excitement lies in working with Jason Aaron: "Even better, Jason and I have been friends for a long time but haven't had the chance to collaborate yet, so I get to achieve two goals with one project."
Chris Burham will wrap things up with his issue focusing on Donatello. As a long-time Batman artist, he is thrilled to join the ranks of the legendary creators who have contributed to the TMNT franchise over the years. He shared, "I've been a TMNT fan since the black and white days - Fugitoid is one of the first comics I ever owned, and the original Donatello One-Issue Micro Series is one of my all-time favorites! I discovered so many amazing artists as a kid reading the Turtles - beyond Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, there's Mark Bodé, Rick Veitch, Mark Martin, Richard Corben, Michael Zulli, Eric Talbot, Jim Lawson, Sophie Campbell... the list goes on and on. It's a great honor to add my name to it!"
With a lineup of superstar artists, new writer Jason Aaron is set to launch an all-new era for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In June's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Alpha #1, Aaron will contribute a ten-page story, giving readers an early glimpse of what he has in store.
